How much HP will an aftermarket air filter "kit" provide?
I have an 05' Saab 9-3 Linear and want to add a K&N 57-0641 57i International Intake Kit. This is not just the filter but an exposed cone filter w/ hose attachment. See the link below:

Don't do it. Please. The only reason to put one of these on your car is to be able to hear the turbo spool up. Saab's OEM air filters flow very well already and there is no need to replace it with an open intake. Besides, they throw check engine lights like crazy on 9-3's. Trionic 8 does not like them. A lot of people don't maintain K&N's properly either, and either over or under oil it, which will either let lots of dirt into your engine and wreck it, or cover your mass airflow sensor with oil and make it destroy your engine with faulty signals. If you want HP gains get a downpipe and a nice cat-back exhaust. Stay away from gimmicky open intakes.
