The function of the bedroom is not restricted to resting only. In fact today, the bedroom is also a place for entertainment as well as study. In these ways, bedrooms also play the role of living room & study room.

While many houses have separate main rooms known as the living room or drawing room, some houses may not have separate study rooms. 1. As suggested above, the Bedroom bench enhances appearance of bedroom, you must choose a bench materials that 'match' existing color scheme & furniture of the bedroom.

2. You may also opt for an antique finish or choose a modern backless bench style. However, you should consider the bench that matches the theme of the bedroom best.

3. Also you need to consider choosing the right wood and / or paint color, material & style of fabric for a cushion, if you use one. The fabric is available in wide patterns, solids and price ranges.

4. Also, you can choose a store-bought wooden bench. These wooden benches are long lasting & require little care generally. A regular varnishing (once in couple of years) will make the wooden bench maintenance free. And a well chosen wooden bench will definitely add excellent changes in your bedroom appearance.

5. If you want to use the bench as vanity bench, go for backless bench that looks antique & matches your bedroom. The concept of vanity benches is 5-6 decade old & you will have luxury to go back in luxurious 1940!

Benches can be used indoor in other rooms also:

- You can put a vanity bench along with a dressing table in the bathroom.

- Benches can also be placed in a living room, passage or lobby. Benches in living rooms can be used as extra seating for parties.

- A bench can be placed at entrances to be used for sitting, to remove or replace shoes.

- A storage bench in a passage way can be a place where you can store extra coats and blankets.

Tenant repairs of burnt bench top.?

I recently made a number of small burn holes in a laminate benchtop with a hot saucepan.
The real estate is now thinking of charging me for a complete replacement of the whole kitchen bench tops. Should this be the case or should I be charged for just replacing the burnt section to the join. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Odds are the entire thing is one piece, so you have to replace the entire thing.

If it is tile you might be able to replace only that portion if the tile can be matched.
