The basic operation for using the digital calipers

Below are the operation of Digital Calipers

1, Cleanning the surface of the digital calipers with a dry and clean cloth, and make sure every measuring dimensions clear.

2, Loosing the bolt, moving the caliper, checking the situation of the displays and all the buttons.

3, Setting the measuring point.

Generally speaking, the absolute zero point is the position when the two jaws touch lightly.

4, Relative measurement

In general, according to a standard dimension, measure the differences between the other item and the standard dimension. Pressing ABS/zero buttons once can get the absolute value of the measured item according to the zero point. Pressing ABS/zero buttons twice, the original value is cleared and display the new relative zero point. Enhancing the accuracy of the measurement, it is meant to adopt the differential measurement, which is the same as the most closes accurate measurement by the ways of relative measuring.

How to avoid the value disordering?

A lot of users complain that the digital calipers are not durable, and may break down for only several days. It is broken since digital calipers are stained with the sweat, oil and cutting compound. Hereby, it disturbs transmitting signal coming out of the sensors. In this case, the digital calipers are not broken it just fails to function temperately in fact.

The methods to solve this problem as below:

Using a clump of cotton dipped with alcohol, clean the scale stickers of the digital calipers then changing another clump of cotton. Dripping a drop of

alcohol on the scale stickers, and pulling it back and forth. Then screwing the clump of cotton lightly, and wiping again and again.

Attention:Do not drip any alcohol into the electronic part.

what causes my brake calipers to seize?

i don't think its the callipers? could it be something else? please help ! already wasted money on new a pair of front callipers, and scared to fit them in-case the shop wont take them back. could there be a simpler explanation? all 4 seize when they get hot, the front ones more so, after about 10 Min's driving or so

to make a better diagnose ... what year ? model? ABS?
if the car is like 20yo Id say replace calipers and brake hoses proportional valve as well.

if the car had never had the brake system bled with fresh fluid this fluid will absorb humidity. this humidity will then make all metal internals of the braking system rust, that is why you can see the fluid turning brownish color after a few years. once it turns black its downhill from there on, that black color is the deterioration of all rubber components inside the braking syst.

if the car is really old OR if the fluid is really dark, consider rebuilding the whole system. it has been neglected and replacing just the calipers will not take you further, most likely the hoses are clogged with deposits as well as the proportional valve--> that's the one that makes the pressure even on all tires. the seal on the caliper piston is the one pulling the piston back in, so it is rusted inside not allowing it to retract. look at the hoses if they look swollen or cracked on the surface replace them.

if the brake hoses or PV are clogged with deposits they will keep the piston from the caliper from retracting. basically if one part failed the others are not far behind.

I'd suggest to replace everything if this is a car you really really want to keep(sentimental value or something).

sorry for the bad news
