ill be getting a car battery soon but is 10 amps enough? the amp is 1000 watts and im trying to use it for my 3 12s in my house
i know you cant hook the charger directly up to the amp i have to hook it to the battery first BUT will 10 amps be enough to keep the CAR battery charged while playing the music loud for lets say a hour at a time
no.10 amps will barely support a 100 watt amplifier.running a battery charger dirrectly to a amplifier is not a good idea anyway.a battery charger sends pulses of amperage to a battery to help with charging and to measure the charge that is in the battery.(this is how the charger knows when to stop charging a full battery)those pulses are very hard on the power supply inside a amplifier.
using a charger on a amplifier will work to say test a amplifier but i would not want to do it full time.
