The Development of Horn-rimmed Glasses
From the name of horn-rimmed glasses, we know they are featured with rims made of horn or tortoise shell. With the development of horn-rimmed glasses, the definition also changes- dark tinted eye glasses with thick frames. Therefore, nowadays horn rimmed eye wear are no longer made from those natural materials which are not only impossible to get and will cause serious damages to the environment while processing. Horn-rimmed glasses originated in Europe in the 1800s, the frames were actually made from tortoise shell and were expensive. And in 1910s, horn rimmed glasses became popular in the United States.
Harold Lloyd, a famous American silent comedian, originally made eyeglass wearing popular. In particular, he brought horn-rimmed glasses to the mainstream — his glasses were plastic. In Europe, frames were made from tortoise shell and were expensive. However, in America, plastic framed glasses were much more common because they were less expensive than tortoise shell. He might be the first one who popularized black horn-rimmed glass.
The glasses continued to be popular through the 1930s, and enjoyed a renaissance in the 1950s when musician Buddy Holly wore a series of large, bulky square pairs on tour and on his album covers. This style—dominantly in black, although also available in varying shades of tortoiseshell—remained popular from the late 1950s until the 1970s, when large, steel aviator frames became popular.
Horn-rimmed glasses fell back out of fashion in the mid 1990s, but returned to popularity at the end of the decade and have remained fashionable. There is no denying that the horn-rimmed glasses are really fashionable and they stand for one's personality and style.

Nokia and Research in Motion are both makers of cellphones and/or so-called smart phones. Both have fallen out of favor since the devices they manufacture are no longer the preferred devices that free people making choices want for their particular needs. A couple of days ago RIM announced bad earnings and layoffs, earnings are down as customers move away from Blackberrys and on to other devices like Androids and I-Phones.
Are the difficulties of the above two companies an example of a structural issue that demands government intervention, or simply part of the creative destruction of capitalism that creates continuous improvement?
Let's just say we let the government plan it's own budget.
If successful, they can have a shot at the rest of the economy.
