When Use a Digital Multimeter
A digital multimeter provides many different functions, such as measures electrical potential in volts, measures the electrical current in amps, measures electrical resistance in ohms and so on. So it is the most versatile and useful instrument in your tool box. It is important to learn and understand how to use the digital multimeter properly.

There is a large knob on the multimeter. The large knob allows you to switch the functions of the multimeter. You can easily change ohmmeter to ammeter, or voltmeter to ohmmeter. As well you should make sure the knob is versatile so you can operate it easily. Next, you should know how to connect the red and the black leads to the device or circuit.
When we use the multimeter to measure voltage, turn on the digital multimeter and turn the function switch to the V. Then you should connect the red lead to "VΩ" terminal and connect the black lead to the "COM" terminal. Now, you can measure the potential, but what you should notice is red one is putting on the higher potential. The black lead is on the other side.
When it used to measure amps, the ways are same with measuring voltage. First, turn the function switch to A. Second, connect the black lead to the "COM" terminal, and connect the red lead to the 300mA terminal. The measure result will be in milliamps as you are using the 300mA terminal.
When it used to measure ohms, first, turn the function switch of the digital multimeter to Ω. The red lead is connected to the VΩ terminal and the black lead is connected to COM terminal. If the display shows "OL", that means there is an overload.
