breast feeding dilemma?

i was having discussion with my sister who didnt breast feed any of her kids which was her choice, but my sis in law did and we got into a debate as im expecting in a few months.

basically i do want to breast feed and know about supply and demand, however i also want to combine formulae to her intake maybe once a day - i only plan to breast feed for 3 months and also want her to transition into formula without any problems as i will be away for 2 weeks.

my dilemma is - is it okay to combine milks with baby and also i have no back up plan incase she doesnt take to breast / formula milk - i am completely against freezing milk so its not an option i am also debating whether to buy a pump to express the milk as well.

any good pump recommendations ( im in the uk so i have seen 3 good ones - medela mini dual breast pump, avent isis pump and medela swing) any ideas which is good

My sister in law combination fed her baby because she just couldn't produce enough milk to satisfy my niece but decided that some was better than none- her midwife recommended Aptamil as it's the closest thing you can buy to breast milk (apparently) so she breastfed as much as she could and at night she gave her formula which seemed to fill her up more meaning she slept longer at night.

She had a manual pump and after a couple of days she gave up and bought an electric pump (the Avent one) which she says is excellent.

She also uses the Tommy Tipee Closer to Nature bottles as they are apparently better for combination feeding.

I on the otherhand, have decided not to breastfeed for my own personal reasons.
