In need of a quick solution to bypass your hectic routines? This article will focus on some tips to make carpenters job easier.
With customers growing more and more demanding in their quest for the perfect home, carpenters' jobs need to be ideal not only in terms of quality output but also in terms of time-efficiency. With customers having more and more power in choosing who they want to appoint, carpenters are facing the dilemma of being qualitatively correct so as to be considered.
The world has seen a shift of power from service providers to customers. As mentioned above, customers can now choose from a wide range of services as per their needs and expectations. With higher end customers wanting their jobs to be completed within the minimum amount of time and being in accordance with their tastes, carpenters and other handy workers have a real need in improving their production process.
What should carpenters do today?
Carpenters should embrace today's technological advancements. No doubt about it! Those carpenters who are still using prehistoric methods of workings are not only time-consuming but they also repel customers.
This is why most people today prefer to buy ready-made furniture because of the fast delivery factor. However, there are still a good amount of customers that need customized solution whether be it in their houses, apartments, hotels among others.
This is the reason why carpenters need to be excellent in terms of production output both in terms of time and quality. And for this to work, carpenters should have a go with the latest innovations. Besides working with traditional tools such as saw, hammer, smoothing plane, chisel among others, carpenters should also work with more modern tools such as electric drills, pneumatic nailers, routers, electric sanders, electric planer, wood grinder, electric nailer, laser leveler among others.
Let us proceed with a simple example. If you are thinking of hanging a high definition photo or a picture in your lounge, then you will want it to be perfectly perpendicular. The same thing is applicable when you are doing a wall painting and you would again want the ceiling paint to be well aligned. Thus, it is ideal for hanging pictures, shelves, bathroom cabinets, amongst others.
Reaching the perfect horizontal or vertical line is not that easy with the traditional accessories such as bubble leveler. However by using modern tools such as a laser leveler, an instant cross is immediately displayed on the wall.
Within seconds, it has the ability to project a visible laser-cross on the walls by simultaneously, displaying accurate horizontal and vertical lines. This Bosch laser photo was taken with the digital Packshot Creator photo studio.
Being water resistant and very robust, this laser-cross has a working range of up to 5 meters and it can easily be installed and mounted on tripods.
This one button device is ideal for both small and large rooms. Not only carpenters but painters and masons can even use this device when designing on walls in an attempt to make their work flow more efficient.

how do I use an electric planer?
I am purchasing 4, 4x4x72 rough cut cedar posts for a medieval style canopy bed I want to build, I was just going to sand them smooth, but I got an electric planer for Christmas. So... what is the best way to plane these so there is less sanding involved. They are not outdoor pressure treated posts but look to be 2 2x4's glued together to make a 4x4 from Home Depot
hand planer or bench planer?
hand planers are normally only 3 1/2" wide, so you'll have to do both sides.
just run along the post like you had an old hand plane, but be careful.
bench planers are stronger, and the passes are more even, but that's a fairly heavy log.
you'll have to make sure you have additional support on both sides.
one direction will be better than the other because of the grain.
but if they're glued, you don't necessarily get to choose.
maybe you can plane 'em flat, then sand to fix any grain lifting.
