Would a violent overthrow of the factories be necessary if Karl Marx had the internet at his fingertips?
Due to the "Gilded Age" in the 19th century, where factory workers worked their fingers to the bone, and the factory bosses became richer off the sweat of underpaid and free labor, Karl Marx observed and theorized ideal circumstances for the "Proletariat". If education was available to the proletariat and his/her children, would the need for a change of the bosses control of the factories be violent or could it be written via blogs and comments as it is in the 21st century? In other words, should the revolution occur by way of the information superhighway if it were to happen today?

It's a strange scenario you propose, that the proletariat be working in a 19th-century factory but have access to 21st-century information.
I think, had workers of the Gilded Age had Internet access and could look up statistics on how little they were making as opposed to how rich their bosses were getting, if they could network with others who were disillusioned with working conditions, perhaps the sort of events that happened at the end of the 19th century that led to Progressive-era reform (40-hour weeks, pensions, unions, child labor laws, safe working conditions) would have happened with more frequency and more viciousness. The workers would have been able to organize much more easily, unions would have been tighter, information would have been shared and passed along, and the general workers' movement of the era would have been even more successful than it was.
Conversely, knowing factory bosses also would have had access to the Internet, they would be seeing the turmoil happening in other factories in real-time and shore up their own defenses. They would be in better contact with their own kind, passing information back and forth, and the sort of collusion you saw during that era, where wages across entire industries were fixed, would have been more absolute.
I'm not ready to say the Internet would have assisted workers create a Marxist paradise. IMHO, it would have made the Gilded Age even more intense in terms of class warfare.
You must remember, it took books like Upton Sinclair's The Jungle to be published before public outcry was so loud that reform had to come. It took a single picture in the 1880's of workers crowded in slum apartments for progressives to question the ethics of unbridled capitalism. With the Internet, if people around the world saw how savage factory owners were in locking out workers and busting their strikes, perhaps public opinion would sway more earnestly toward the worker, and reform could have been legislated quicker.
I tried to look at this question from every angle, and at the end of the day, the Internet would have sped up reform. It would have been just as bloody, but it would have been faster.
