When is the Best Time of Year to Install an Epoxy Floor?
When considering when the best time will be to install your new epoxy flooring, it's important to take into account the outdoor temperature. Epoxy mixtures can be affected by both temperature and humidity, so the key to application success is choosing a time that will ensure installation success.
Extreme temperature, either too hot or too cold, can affect an epoxy floor during installation, because it will change the way the product reacts either accelerating or slowing down the chemical reaction. If it is too hot outside, the cure time can speed up, making the epoxy tacky and difficult to spread onto the concrete. If it is too cold the cure time can be significantly slower, leaving you with a tacky floor long after it should be ready for use. Our flooring can be affected at temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, so save the hot summer days for projects without a chemical component, and below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, which means focusing on projects that don't need to dry before they can be enjoyed.
In addition, epoxy coatings are also affected by high humidity, which can leave a barrier of moisture between the concrete and the epoxy negatively affecting the bond between them. It is important to ensure that your installation happens on a day when the relative humidity is at less than 75 percent, so that the product will achieve the strongest bond with the concrete underneath.
The bottom line: Save extreme summer and winter conditions for indoor projects such as basements, bathrooms, and rec. rooms, where you can control the temperature to ensure the best epoxy paint performance. For garage flooring and outdoor use, keep a close eye on the forecast, and choose a day well within the 50 to 90 degree Fahrenheit range, so that you will enjoy the easiest application possible, and a reliable cure time.

How do I clean an indoor slate floor?
Someone told us to use an acide on the slate floor and it turned white - so I used a Rug Spot Cleaner and that got rid of most of the white - But HOW to I clean this slate floor, its the entrance way to my house and it looks horid! Please help.
Just plain soap, hot water and a very stiff nylon brush.
I find that liquid laundry soap works the best. DO NOT USE OVER THE COUNTER cleaners for slate it is VERY VERY porous and will take up cleaners in strange ways (as you already have found out). With all do respect the person that told you this probably thought slate-tile yea muriatic acid.
And don't get me wrong you can use this to clean the slate but it not necessary for what you are describing.
Its just dirt and it will come off just fine using the detergent.
