Tips You Can Try for Applying the Soldering Iron for Your Jewelry
Jewelry can be said as the must have item for women. The material to form the jewelry itself is various. If you want to make the jewelry by joining the two metal pieces together, you can use the soldering iron.
The soldering torch can also be used to repair your broken necklace or bracelet. You can find the soldering iron in the market or in the online shop. The tool has the three levels: hard, medium, and soft. The level is depending to the melting point.
If you want to bind your jewelry, you need to prepare other tools like solder, the metal pieces you will solder together, the wire cutters, the tweezers, the Tupperware container, the paint brush, the non-flammable surface, the pickle solution, the borax flux, the sandpaper, etc.
It is better for you to cut the solder into the small pieces with 2 to 4 millimeters. You also need to put the pickle solution close to you. You can heat the iron while you mix the water with the flux until you get the flux paste.
Arrange the metal pieces on the non-flammable surface where you will connect the pieces with the solder. Apply the flux paste by using the paint brush to the metal pieces you will solder. You can use the tweezers to arrange the pieces. You should not use your bare hands to touch the area that has been soldered.
Use the soldering iron to melt the area which is covered by the flux paste. You will see the flux turns to white and becomes flaky and melt. After that process, you can use the tool directly to the metal and join the pieces.
Leave the pieces to cool it down. Use the tweezers to pick the pieces to the pickle. The pickle solution will clean your jewelry from the flux paste.
After it gets clean, you can take the jewelry from the pickle and dry it. To smooth the metal's edges, you can use the sandpaper.
