Computer switches back on when in standby?
I am running Windows XP Home SP3. When i put the PC in standby mode it sleeps for around 5 minutes or so but then automatically wakes up to show the desktop. I have made sure none of the buttons on the keyboard or the mouse are causing it, so i presume it may have something to do with applications running in the background i.e. anti virus.
Hi there, the problem almost certainly lies with your mouse. You need to go to Control Pannel ,then open Device Manager. Then double click MOUSE in Device manager. Under POWER MANAGEMENT, UNTICK the box that says" ALLOW THIS DEVICE TO WAKE PC, and then click OK.. Good Luck Charlie
