Several Tips to Clean a Hospital Bed
Since patients need a clean place while they are in hospital, it is very important for them to use a clean hospital bed. Because patients in hospital are in and out, the hospital bed needs to clean properly before it is used by new patient. Cleaning the hospital bed is aimed to prevent the bacteria transmission that can grow and live on solid surfaces. Thus, these are going to give you some tips to clean this hospital furniture.
Firstly, you need to wash your hands using antibacterial soap. After that, dry your hand and use disposable gloves and mask. So, now your hand is protected from any bacterial that comes from the bed and by using a mask you can also safe from the dust and germ.
Secondly, you have to disconnect the bed from the wall, and other attachments or electronic controls. Then, you need to remove the mattress from the bed so that you will be easier to clean the inside part. For cleaning the bed frame, you can use compressed air to remove debris and dust from it. After that, the mattress and the bed frame need to be heavily sprayed with the hospital grade germicidal cleanser, and let it remain there for at least two minutes wiping.
Thirdly, after waiting for two minutes, now you can start to wipe the bed frame from top to bottom. Just make sure that all areas of the bed are completely wiped. After that, you need to spray all parts of the bed with germicidal spray to make it sterile. Then, let the bed sits for ten minutes until it is completely dried.
Fourthly, place back onto the bed the all removed parts including the mattress and all electronic devices into the walls. Finally, cover the bed with clean linens so that the patients will be comfortable to sleep there.

What is the best breast pump? (Non hospital grade - under $250)?
I use the Medela Harmony. It is a single manual pump, at it works great. I would honestly stick with any of the Medela pumps. They research everything they need to know for this, and I think that they are the best brand out there. More hospitals recomend them & give them to patients. If you still aren't sure, you can always get in contact with the La Leche League (LLL), or your local lactation consultant. You can even do a search on Yahoo for them in your area. I am a new mom, and I am so thankful for our lacation consultant from the visiting nurses association, which is another place you can look for a lactation consultant. If you go to Medela's website, they have great resources and tips.
