Keep Lithium Ion Battery On AC Power?
I just got a new new Acer Aspire One netbook and I was reading the manual and it says that it will make the Lithium ion battery last longer if you leave it plugged into AC power. I've always heard that keeping something on a charger will actually decrease batter life.
Will it make the battery last longer if I keep it plugged in?

This true if you remove the battery. If you have the charger plugged in and the battery plugged in all the time, power will be drained from the battery and the charger is going to charge up the missing 1% or so that the laptop uses ever few minutes. This constant charge and recharge for that 1% is going to wear out the battery.
So what its saying when it means "Have the AC power connected all the time" it means to have the charger plugged in and the battery removed, preventing the constant charge and discharge but rather the pure "using power directly" part.
