hello!
moving out of a flat soon and due to have a friend that thought leaving a curling iron on our carpet for a while was a smart idea we have a shallow burn.
Ive heard sand paper to get rid of the crispy surface and the to trim the surrounding carpet so it blends in. do you think the landlord will notice?!
also just a few small holes where we hung pictures- whats the best way to fill them? polyfiller??
regarding the carpet, nothing to be done - I had a tenant do the ironing on a new carpet and burn it, argh! BUT the deposit hit may not be as bad as you think as the approved wear and tear rate on carpets is phenomenal. Not good for me but ok for you. If by any chance you get stung for carpet replacement see if you can find a remnant to fix it.
as for the picture holes, polyfilla should do fine.
