Thumbnail View in windows explorer xp - How do i remove folder overlays?

I have a folder with thousands of sub-folders. Each with their own folder.jpg preview. When i view them from the parent directory in thumbnail view, each folder has an overlay graphic of a folder. Is there a way to remove this overlay for the ones that contain folder.jpg files and stretch the thumbnail to the full size of the icon instead of wasting preview space with the 6 or so pixels per side that the overlay takes up?

right click on one of the folders and then select the customize tab..
pick the options you want ..meaning make it look the way you want it to.
then click apply and then ok...
You will then have an option to make all folders have these properties...
