3-4 vs. 4-3 defenses.. which is better?
Being a patriots fan, im biased towards the 3-4. we had a huge line until seymour was traded, every lineman over 300lbs, so does that make up for the missing lineman? but that suffers from a crappy pass rush, so does the linebacker step in? if the 3 big down lineman can occupy the same amount of blockers the 4 down lineman, there can be 2 blitzing linebackers leaving 2 for pass coverage, how does the 4-3 compete to that?
I believe that the 3-4 is way better, you figure you take out one tackle and replace it with a much more quicker linebacker. You figure than you can always send the two outside line backers in to blitz or just have the two middle linebackers bullrush the middle. End of the day 3-4 is more modern and you get more speed on the field with 4-3 its more traditional and you got the two tackles that can plug up the middle.
