Is there a delay when a photon is reflected off of a mirror? Say mirror is one polished metal perfect crystal?
What is the time that the photon "spends" in the mirror? Has it ever been measured in real mirrors? How is the change in momentum accounted for?
Is the reflected photon of exactly the same energy? How important is the nature of the metal? Structure, band gap,... Does a superconductor reflect light (at → 100% efficiency)?
I was not a physics major, but I believe that the photon is not actually reflected. I think the photon strikes an electron, knocking into a higher orbital. Then the electron drops back emitting a photon of identical energy but going in a different direction.
