What exactly is a quad core processor?
If I have an Intel Core 2 Quad processor running at 2.4 Ghz, does this mean that there are 4 processors running at 2.4 ghz each ?
If not, please tell me what it means.
I am going to order a Dell XPS 420 with these specs:
intel core 2 quad 2.4 ghz
4gb ram
windows vista
nvidia 8800gtx 768 mb video card
Will this be good for gaming or no?
Each core is running on the same clock. So yes each is running at 2.4Ghz! That does not means your programs will run faster. The program must be able to see each of them. This is called multitheading. The OS will run faster and most games today will see all the cores.
