my electric die grinder has lost all its power. How can i restore it back ?
my ac rotary cutting tool/die grinder(120v) recently had a dramatic loss of power. The speed is still there but it has no real torque any more. Not long ago I gave it a real workout, that made it go into a mini shutdown mode,but after a good cleaning and a litle lube it came back to life,,,,sorta..minus its usual torque.
Im pretty comfortable pulling things apart and and figuring out the problems and repairing them,and have a good knowledge of the brush and rotor
concept on motors. could that be my issue? Any help appreciated I miss my grinder very much
Those little rotary electrics are notoriously short lived. You probably burned some windings and to rebuild it would cost more than a new tool. You can buy usually buy the bare grinder without bits and attachments pretty reasonable.
