Specifications

The range of this wireless Bluetooth VAS 5054A is 5 to 10 meters depending on the environment and the Bluetooth type and adapter the PC using. Moreover, the Serial Port Profile (SPP) is used for data transfer via Bluetooth. Different Bluetooth security levels are supported.

K line (ISO9141-2)

High-speed CAN (ISO 11898-2)

Low-speed CAN (ISO 11898-3)

J1850 (SAE J1850)

The vehicle protocols are handled directly in the VAS 5054A. This ensures fast response times and a reliable real-time behavior independently of the PC operating system. Once a connection is established, the VAS 5054A software is synchronized with the version on the application PC. The VAS 5054A thus automatically adopts any new features after a new installed software version.

The diagnostic application and the associated Diagnostic Base System are installed on the application PC. Furthermore, the Diagnostic Base System can access the VAS 5054A via Bluetooth or USB.

Access via Bluetooth: After VAS 5054A connection, the Bluetooth software provides a virtual serial COM port (Bluetooth Serial Port Profile). The Diagnostic Base System uses this COM port to communicate with the VAS 5054A.You need to specify this port when you install the diagnostic application.

Access via USB: You can also connect by using the supplied USB cable. Windows detects the VAS 5054A through Plug and Play, and automatically installs the drivers copied when you installed the diagnostic application. Completing setup, the device is ready for diagnostic application.

Specifications:

DiCE has an integrated CARB cable, which is connected to the vehicle's diagnostic socket. When connecting to the vehicle, DiCE is powered when the battery is charged.

DiCE also has a folding hook that is designed for hanging the unit from one of the grab handles in the vehicle for example.

DiCE is equipped with four status LEDs that can indicate the status of the software, the USB and Bluetooth communication and the interface to the car.

At one end of the unit, you can connect a battery cable or adaptor (12V) with DC input. The adaptor is used when upgrading and troubleshooting the DiCE.

In the other end of the unit, there is a removable cover, which could be removed by turning the screw on the cover.

Tools for starter swap for 1988 Chevy Silverado?

Ok I am at work and my Vehicle is stuck at a gas station right now. I am pretty sure it is my starter, most likely the solenoid. but due to time and budget constraints, I am forced to do this fix right where it sits.
What I need to know is what tools will I need to swap the starters. I figure a good set of SAE wrenches and/or sockets and possibly a multi bit driver. Other than that is there anything else I might need that I am not aware of?
Well thanks to all who answered. It turned out to be a ground issue which I had figured it to possibly be but was unwilling to check it in the rain at 11:30 last night. I turned it over and it started on the first try. Thanks to all, especially firewood (You'll best answer) for helping me cover all my bases so I only had to make one trip out there...........YAHOOO!!!

There are two mounting bolts that hold up the starter they are 15mm or a 9/16 will work. there are two wires to disconnect off of the solenoid...the large positive battery cable and the small wire that triggers the solenoid, they should be 15mm(9/16) and 5/16 respectively. Be sure to reinstall any shims that may be between starter housing and engine block. also before starting any work be sure to disconnect your battery!
