Pure Parure: Finding the Perfect Set of Handmade Silver Jewellery
You don't have to be the Queen of England to want to wear a parure, or set of matching jewellery. The origin of the word parure comes from the Old French verb parer, to adorn. And the custom of wearing matched sets or suites of jewellery originated in 17th century Europe, and was initially the province of royalty and the wealthy.
But today you needn't be either to collect and wear stunning, fashionable matched sets of handmade silver jewellery. Your parure won't necessarily contain a diadem or fancy brooches, but there's no reason it shouldn't include a necklace with matching earrings, a bracelet and necklace, a ring and necklace, any combination of these – or "one of each". How to go about selecting a parure of handmade sterling silver jewellery? Here are some suggestions.
The most obvious way to compile a set of handmade silver jewellery is to choose items designed in the same style, and with the same colour gemstone. Many such items are designed to be worn separately or together, so this is easy to do. However, you can choose complementary items – that is, handmade silver jewellery with either similar detailing (matte versus shiny, geometric versus round shape, with or without filigree), or that has the same or a similar coloured gemstone.
If you are a tad more adventurous, you may wish to mix handmade silver jewellery items that are different. For example, you can choose one handmade silver jewellery item with a blue gemstone (tourmaline), and another with a green one (peridot), or one silver jewellery item with an opaque orange gemstone (carnelian) and another with a translucent orange gemstone (amber). It is best not to mix dominant with demure pieces, however, as one will overwhelm the other. Don't be afraid to use your creativity!
No matter how you choose to assemble your personal parure, remember that the pieces can all still be worn individually – as indeed they sometimes were and are by European royalty. Thus, choosing a parure of handmade silver jewellery makes for both a smashing fashion statement – and more value for your money!

It will match your outfit but you should also make sure it matches your skin tone too if you have warm undertone then gold will look best if you have cool silver will look wonderful and if you can't figure out which looks better gold or silver then your lucky and you have neutral also good when using lipsticks too
