Standard Fire Equipment and the Latest Thermal Imaging Infrared Radiation Equipment
To combat any sudden outbreak of fire, every home and workplace should be equipped with the necessary fire equipment to contain the situation. Without the right tools, no defense will be there to prevent the fire from spreading and causing possible loss of lives and millions of dollars worth of valuable properties going up in smoke. As home or business owner, you cannot afford not having the best fire extinguishers which can tackle the critical classes of fires. It would be much better if you have latest types of fire extinguishers in the market which are not only environmentally friendly but are effective for most levels of fire risks. Additional tools you must equip your place are fire alarms, smoke detectors and water sprinklers.
It should be clarified that when it comes to alarms, one tool being actively promoted is the carbon monoxide alarm system. This dangerous gas is very hard to detect because it has no color, no scent and no taste. This is why a carbon monoxide alarm is a necessary fire equipment. How about the fire blanket? It is only a low cost investment for kitchen fire protection which every home should have with one or more of these. Fire blankets are perfect to contain pan fires on the cooker. Look for the blanket which conforms to international standards. They are multi-purpose fire equipment and can also be used to cover around somebody whose clothes are burning. It is ideal for any kitchen in your home or restaurants, hotels, laboratories, factories, schools or other places.
Another important fire equipment is the fire brigade's fire hose as well as the indoor fire hose reels you can attach to your plumbing system. If you are staying in a multi-story residential-commercial building, you have these tools stored in fire extinguisher cabinets in all floors. They are also ideal items to have in plants and factories.
Aside from the basic fire equipments such as the fire trucks, hard helmets, ladders, fireproof clothing, gas masks, glasses, globes, etc., your community firefighters are also provided the necessary training on how to handle different fire equipments for many kinds of fires. A standard tool they always have on hand is the fire axe which is usually in red color. It looks like a pickax and this equipment is essential for a fireman to break through walls, windows, doors, glass or other barriers. Another valuable equipment is the fireman's key. These keys can control any type of elevator to make it run or to make it stop. Other type of fire equipment is the breathing equipment for use in any smoke filled environment together with latest models of lighting equipment.
Fire Brigades also rely on another valuable fire equipment which is the fire hydrant, either a wet or dry barrel. The fire hydrant has one or more connections for the fire hose to supply a minimum flow rate of around 950 liters per minute to battle fires.
The latest breakthrough fire equipment is the technologically advanced thermal infra red radiation imaging devices which can assist firemen see through darkness to what and where the fire is burning. It leads firefighters to victims when visibility is poor in just a matter of seconds instead of minutes.. The thermal cameras lead firefighters find the source of the fire and to quickly put it out. The camera is equipped with a telemetry feature that allows the fire attack to be viewed by the chief firefighter from his command post. Signals are sent from the camera to TV monitor located in the incident command vehicle. This allows extra pair of eyes while search and rescue is taking place. After fire is extinguished, firefighters scan the fire ground in seconds to pinpoint other hot spots. Videotapes are then saved and stored for review and training. Whatever amount of investment you put in for the right kind of fire equipment to maximize protection and safety such as the thermal imaging devices is definitely worth it!

Is there a whole body MRI for cancer and if so why isn't it used as a standard evaluation tool for cancer pati
ents? My daughter has been diagnosed with Stage IIIC breast cancer and she has been Catscanned, and blood tested, bone scanned and ultrasounded. What checks for cancer in the body as we are concerned with the spread or mastesization of the cancer to other parts of the body? Wouldn't a whole body MRI verses just a breast MRI be more effective?
MRI affects every atom in your body. Although it is not known to be a carcinogen its use is limited so that the patient is not exposed to extra danger.
Also it isn't just the scanning that is time consuming - someone has to look at the results.
An MRI gives fantastically detailed pictures but some things show up in blood tests before they show on an MRI.
Some cancers do not show clearly on MRI but ultrasound will pick them up because of their properties.
Also Don't forget an MRI will only show what is there at the time of the scan.
I hope this answers your question and I wish your daughter all the best.
