A Premier Household Broom from Stanley Home Products
Cleaning is never a problem. All you need is a good household broom, some rags and soap and you are all set. Betty didn’t see it that way. She needed the best of everything. She wanted the best household broom that money could buy, beautiful south sea sponges to do the wiping up and cleaning solutions that could degrease and shine. She was the type of home maker that the Stanley Home Products salesman loved.
She would sit on her porch swing, flipping through the Stanley Home Products catalog and see what she could get that would be easier for her, but at the same time help her keep the house cleaner. She liked to sit on the front porch because the entire action of the city passed by her door. She lived near the busiest intersection of her small city, and it was hers, on the busiest thoroughfare. This allowed her to keep track of all the people who passed. She had even had big picture windows installed so that she wouldn’t miss anything while she was cleaning inside. The fact is that she was a lonely old maid of about forty-five years who had spent her life taking care of family and then the community and never herself.
One day a man came sauntering up her walk like he owned the place, placed a foot on the bottom step of her stoop and leaned an elbow on the upraised knee. He took of his boater hat and wiped his sweaty forehead with a large bandana handkerchief he had pulled from a back pocket. He looked up at Betty after all of this and started with the usual banter about the weather. She saw that he was carrying a Stanley Home Products satchel and told him that she already had a regular Stanley caller. For a matter of fact he was the one who had sold her the household broom she was currently sweeping the walk with. He held up a hand to stop her and said that he now had the route. Her regular man had retired and given it to him.
From right there a romance started. He came by with products from his Stanley Home Products case about once a week, and stayed to have dinner. She made sure that she gave even more attention to her household broom because an honored guest was always expected. They eventually married and the old maid became an old married woman who still enjoyed a nice clean home.

How do I increase the tension on a Stanley self-closing door hinge?
The ones I am familiar with have a lock nut on the bottom. Hold this firmly and loosen slightly. There is a keyed hole( hex) in bottom to tighten or loosen ( could be a slotted also ) turn clockwise and then lock down locking nut. Hope that will help..
