You see, when the garage doors being opened the automatic garage door rail will be pushing against this spot. This is generally not a problem unless the specific garage door wasn't framed in properly. If you do find that is an issue then you've bigger problems to worry about.
If you've gotten this far, congratulations you might be able to start searching for a good automatic garage door opener. I've found the run-of-the-mill units tend to be superior than the more expensive openers. I've had significantly better luck with cheaper units than costlier ones.
In the house I live currently in, I had to install 2 openers. One was a pricier unit was on sale and the other was a less expensive unit. The expense one lasted just about 4 years and died. Yet one which was the cheaper unit is still running after several years of service.
