Is it safe to eat steel cut oatmeal with hot water added to it rather than cooking the oatmeal on the stove?
In other words, I'm at work and don't have access to a stove and I don't want to eat instant steel cut oatmeal so I'm just adding hot water from the water cooler to the oatmeal. Is that okay? Do I really need to cook the oatmeal on the stove for 5 minutes?
You can eat it raw. Add milk and let it sit for five minutes. Allow plenty of time to chew.
