Setting up Your New Home: Essential Tools
When you set up shop in your first new home it isn’t unusual to be lacking in some very vital areas like household tools; while you are moving in, as well as for day to day living, a well stocked tool box is a great resource to have.

The next type of tool that you will need is a screwdriver. In actual fact, a small set of screwdrivers is best; make sure that your set has a slotted screwdriver as well as a Phillips (crosshead), a Robertson (square head), and perhaps the less common Torx and Pozidriv cross point styles. Many sets of screwdrivers come with interchangeable long and short handles that you can affix the bits to which makes them easier to accomplish a variety of tasks with.
Another type of tool that is very useful for home use is pliers. It is a good idea to have on hand a few types of pliers and at least one pair that has a wire cutter integrated into the design. A few different shapes of pliers will be useful, as well as one pair of vice grips which you can lock closed to help you hold on to things.
There are a few more items that will round out your tool box’s usefulness. A decent measuring tape is essential, particularly if you have pictures to hang. A level is useful for putting up shelves or hanging pictures at the same height. A box of razors and razorblade holder for scraping is a really good tool particularly for removing paint or other residue from glass.
As you encounter more needs for tools in your home, no doubt that your collection will increase; these tools should give you a good start for setting up and decorating your new home.

Peugeot 106 torsion bar suspension ?????
Hi, i am trying to adust the torsion bar on one side of my 1995 106 diesel. its sitting really low on the right side at the rear. but everything seems in order its just the position the torsion bar is set at that i suspect someone has done wrong as i just got the car. but i can't get it off!! what holds the swing arm on?? i have the torx bolt out of the torsion bar but can't find anything else holding the swing arm on! how do i release it to get the torsion bar out and back in on a better setting?
OK there is a right way and a wrong way to do this correctly. The correct way is to do the following:-
1) Jack the car up on both sides, use axle stands and remove the wheels.
2) Under the car remove the bolts holding the shock absorbers and then remove them.
3) Looking at the swing are you will see that at the pivot point there is a small nut and screw coming from the front torsion bar, Clean this up with a wire brush, use lots of wd40 and then remove the nut.
4) On the passenger side trailing arm you will see a 13mm spanner bolts on a bracket that holds the brake pipe and handbrake cable. Remove this bolt and bracket.
5) Behind this bracket and under a load of dirt/rust you will find a small tor-ex headed screw. This can be a real git to get out, clean it, wd40 with and withe great care remove it.
6) Behind this screw there is a real odd ball washer, this washer holds the torsion bar in place and as such has to be removed by hitting it down into the slot that is cut into the swing arm.
7) Once this is removed you need to use an 8mm bolt with a slide hammer to remove the torsion bar.
After you have removed the torsion bar, adjust the swing arm to the correct height and then replace everything back in the reverse order.
Do both sides at the same time and make sure the ride height is the same for both wheels.
