Remodeling the Bathroom with a Shower Makeover

Shower panels can change the look and feel of any bathroom, transforming a utilitarian shower into a luxurious home spa.  This adds an immediate upgrade to any bathroom.  Shower panels are fairly easy to install and are simple to clean with their wipe down surfaces.  When choosing the ideal shower panel consider the size both of the shower and the panel itself.  With the variety of styles, features, and materials there is a shower panel ideal for just about any bathroom.

An added bonus of some panels is that they feature a tub filler.  This means that the shower can be upgraded and still maintain the integrity of the tub if the two must be kept together as a single unit.

When deciding on the degree of luxury you would like to experience here are some shower panel features to consider.

• Number of shower jets varies depending on style.  There may be a single row of 4 jets or a double row of 8 or more jets in addition to the traditional overhead shower fixture.

• A thermostatic pressure balancing valve allows you to adjust the water pressure for an increased level of intensity.  Some shower panels also allow for adjustments to target specific areas of the back.

Once a shower panel has been chosen the next consideration should be the proper shower enclosure.  Tempered glass enclosures tend to be the preferred aesthetic companion to a shower panel.  In addition to looking nice they are also simple to clean.

Shower enclosures can be framed or frameless, with hinged or sliding doors.  They are easily customizable for any space and style preference, which includes clear or frosted glass.  Shower enclosures can be fitted for a shower-tub combo as well as a stand-alone shower.

Hot Water in Cold Tap?

Last week, we replaced our shower/tub plumbing. The old pipes along with hot/cold faucets were cut out, and a new pipe with a single hot/cold mixing valve were installed and soldered. Since then we have hot water in all taps, toilets, outside hoses - everything - for the first 20-30 seconds they're on. After that, even if we only have the faucet turned to HOT, it's lukewarm at best.

It can't have anything to do with his work... except if there was a really good leak/flow going into the tub.If that outlet source was suddenly stopped, the water in the pipes is no longer flowing steady and can retain heat from the outside. When you turn on a tap the water in the pipes is the first to come out for a few seconds.
I hate those single tap valves since they are hard to regulate. There is some sort of button to hold down while twisting the knob. It will take some doing but you can probably get it set to a comfortable temperature.
