For families with disabled family members it is given, but even for senior citizens a walkin tubs can provide the perfect combination of contemplation, refreshment and cleanliness standards. Speaking over the designing and construction of walkin tubs theyhave either an inward-opening or outward-opening door that is self-sealing. Most walk-in bathtubs also have a chair-height seat, but some, which are the same basic configuration as a standard bathtub, do not have any seat. In some instances an inward-opening door may be considered a disadvantage because emergency access is impossible, since the pressure of the water on the door is holding it closed. However, the advantage is that an inward opening door is "self-sealing" due to the pressure of the water inside the bath assisting in maintaining water-tight seal.Outward-swinging doors are equipped with a special seal so that they will not leak. Other tubs have side walls that raise and lower, while others have doors that slide into the wall of the tub.
Some bathtubs categorized as "walk-in" actually require a low step-in, as they have higher seats and outward-opening doors that enable a person to simply sit on the seat and pivot and swing his or her legs into the tub. This type of walk-in bathtub can be helpful to those confined to wheelchairs and to others with mobility challenges.
Walkin tubs take up a similar amount of space in a bathroom as a traditional bathtub. This allows for a quicker installation and simpler alignment of the water drains. If you have chosen a tub in which the mixer should be mounted on the edge of the tub, it should be mounted before setting the tub in place. Thereafter, it may be difficult to access with wrenches and other tools. The layout is simple and requires only a few tools. Set the walk in tub in place and adjust the position so that the tub is steady and not inclined. When you have measured up, cut and assemble the pipe between the drain hole and floor drain, and then the job is finished.

My marble encased Jacuzzi Bath tub suddenly will not switch on. Is there anythng I can do wthout Pro?
Tub is only 4.5 to 5 yrs old. No warning problems. The in tub wall mount switch seems to push in easier than usual. Still has some resistnce but not like normal when it worked. There is no sound or attempt to start. I am thinking it is the switch. Can switch b replaced without taking marble outer sheet off?? If not, will I need to call the marble guy and the tub/jacuzzi guy?? Or gal/gals?
Since it sounds like this switch is where it can be reached while in the tub... it is most likely an air switch. No electricity, it literally operates by changing the air pressure in the line, activating the motor. As you mention it is easier to push in... I'd guess that the tube (small diameter... maybe 1/4 inch outside diameter at the most, and usually clear in color) has come off of the backside of the switch (that's where they normally come loose, hehe)
I find it hard to believe that an access panel wasnt installed... everything needs to be serviced at some point in time. There might be a panel on the other side of the wall (in a closet for example). If nothing else, you might be able to acess it thru the floor, underneath the tub - drain lines usually go thru the sub-floor, for instance.
Amusingly enough.. if it is this little air tube, it will take you longer to get to it, than it will to fix it, hehehe.
On the off chance that we are talking about an electrical switch, I'd check the GFCI outlet and/or breaker before doing anything else. The tub should be on it's own breaker in the panel box. Flip the breaker all the way off, and then back on.
Oh.. one other option, instead of tearing out marble... if the switch is on an outside wall, it might be faster to go thru the wall - especially if the exterior is something that lends itself to being removed and replaced easily, like siding.
