How do you cool a hot and humid RV without power?
I am looking for a way to keep my RV cool in the hot summer months. I have an A/C unit, but it uses 3500 surge watts to kick on and 1500 continuous, so I can only use it when plugged in. So what are some ways too keep cool in the heat and humidity.
The cheapest I found was a 12v swamp cooler, but that is not made for humid areas.
Anyone else have any ideas? This box fan isnt doing s**t!
For one, the box fan works best at night and fitted into a window blowing the air outward(so it is fitted real tight) Then at the other end of the unit open other windows because of the suction and it sucks in the cool night air. Come daylight. Shut the entire system down(meaning close all the windows) The cool is now inside. I believe most RV's come with insulation so that also keeps the cool in. Parking in the shade would help too or by a beach where there normally is a breeze. But it is a matter of watching which thermometer is higher, inside or outside to let you know when to open the RV windows to let in the outside air. If you got smokers, kick them outside. Also keep the door shut. Treat cool air identical to heated air(as in the winter) and you can figure it out.
Humidity I can't do you for. Get used to it.
