Makita Makes the Best Planer

A tool called a planer is a tool that is widely used. Its basic function is to cut or shave off materials to get them to be smooth. This material can either be wood or metal depending on what job you are doing. Makita is a brand that has been making tools for many years and one of those tools is a planer. Makita makes many different versions of a planer so there should be no asking, "What is a Makita planer?"

There are five different planers that Makita makes. The first, and the largest, is the Makita 12-1/4" planer. This is a powerful planer having a 15 amp motor and doing 12,000 RPMs. The belt has been designed and made with grooves to make the transfer of power from the motor to the blades the most efficient. The handle has been made out of rubber to provide comfort while in use and there is a large knob on this tool to make adjustments much easier. The cord with this tool is the longest coming in at 33 feet.

The Makita 12" planer is easy to transport because it is small and it weighs very little. This is the fastest and the easiest tool when it comes to changing a blade. This is in comparison to all the other planers on the market. Also, this planer, out of all the planers in its class, is the smallest.

Another planer is the Makita 4-3/8" curved base planer. This planer is used to smooth out curved surfaces. There are two handles for extra control as well as a large front grip for added control. The bevel radius is able to be adjusted and there is a lock on the bottom of the tool so that this tool can be used continuously without any stopping.

There is also a regular Makita 4-3/8" planer for flat surfaces. This planer is small in size and has an all ball bearing design to add years to the life of this tool. The motor comes in at 7. 5 amps. This planer is made out of aluminum and this helps to give the tool the best accuracy possible.

The last Makita planer is the 3-1/4" planer. This planer is small in size but is still powerful with a 7. 5 amp motor and does up to 16,000 RPMs. The weight of this planer is 7. 2 pounds. The handle of this tool is made specifically for comfort and control of the user.

Makita is a leader in the tool industry and has been making tools for a long time. Planers are tools that Makita does well and this does not seem like it is going to stop anytime soon.

Want to cut down some wood int. doors. Do they make a planer that will cut the width not the thickness.?

Only have a regular table saw and do not want to ruin the expensive doors with a bad cut.

There are hand held power planers that can be used to trim the width of a door. Most home centers sell them as does Sears.
